Project Accountant – Part-Qualified (14-Month FTC)
Central London | Hybrid Working | £Competitive
Start date: April 2026
Are you a bright and ambitious part-qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA) looking to take the next step in your career?
Do you thrive in a varied role with real ownership, visibility, and the chance to partner closely with senior stakeholders?
I’m working with a leading organisation in the infrastructure and asset management sector who are seeking a talented Project Accountant to join their high-performing finance team on a 14-month fixed-term contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain end-to-end responsibility across several Special Purpose Companies (SPCs), within a supportive and collaborative environment.
The Role
Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, you’ll take full ownership of the financial management, reporting and administration for a portfolio of PFI/other project companies.
This is a broad, hands-on role with plenty of stakeholder exposure and the chance to influence project outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
*Managing monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting cycles
*Preparing quarterly management accounts, Board packs and executive summaries
*Presenting financial performance at Board meetings
*Managing annual budgets and rolling cashflow analysis
*Ensuring compliance with statutory, contractual and regulatory requirements
*Overseeing VAT returns and liaising with tax advisors
*Supporting audit processes and securing approval of statutory accounts
*Managing financial aspects of commercial activity (variations, lifecycle expenditure, benchmarking, etc.)
*Maintaining strong relationships with Asset Managers, Funders, Treasury, Tax Advisors and client finance teams
*Reviewing insurance cost sharing calculations and updating invoice models
*Overseeing aged debtors/creditors and resolving outstanding issues
*Supporting continuous improvement across finance systems and processes
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
*Part-qualified ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent) with strong financial reporting experience
*Confident, analytical and able to take ownership of complex projects
*Capable of building strong relationships with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
*Comfortable presenting at Board level
*Experienced in project accounting, infrastructure, or SPC/PFI environments (advantageous but not essential)
*Highly organised with strong attention to detail and a proactive mindset
What’s on Offer
*14-month FTC with immediate impact
*Hybrid working (Central London office)
*Collaborative team culture and strong mentorship
*Exposure to high-profile projects and senior stakeholders
*Opportunity to develop your financial modelling and project accounting skills
If you’re a motivated part-qualified Accountant looking for a long-term contract role that offers breadth, ownership and progression, we’d love to hear from you.
