Project Manager - Specialist Engineering Projects
Location: Blackbushe area, Hampshire
Contract: Permanent
A leading manufacturer of advanced instrumentation and sensing systems is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the delivery of bespoke engineering projects from concept through to completion. This is a key role within a highly collaborative projects team, managing complex developments that combine hardware, firmware, and software solutions for clients across technically demanding sectors.
The Role
* Plan, resource, and manage multiple engineering projects to ensure delivery on time, on budget and to specification.
* Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and documentation, identifying key milestones and deliverables.
* Coordinate internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring transparent communication and proactive risk management.
* Control budgets and timelines, identifying variations and implementing recovery actions when needed.
* Produce and maintain accurate project documentation including specifications, test plans, procedures, and reports.
* Lead project reviews and ensure compliance with internal quality and customer standards.
* Support customer engagement throughout the project lifecycle, from proposal to delivery and post-installation support.
About You
* Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
* Proven experience managing multidisciplinary projects within an engineering, manufacturing, or technology environment.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across all levels of seniority.
* Excellent planning, organisation, and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail.
* Customer-focused and results-driven, able to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
* Security clearance eligibility (UK passport holder with 5+ years’ UK residency).
Desirable: Professional certification such as APM PMQ, PRINCE2, or equivalent. Experience delivering defence or government projects would be beneficial but not essential.
