Reed is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of Fox’s Burton’s Companies (FBC UK) for the position of Recorder, based in Edinburgh (EH11 4HN). This is a full-time, permanent role, paid weekly in arrears, and operates on a rotating dayshift pattern, including Monday to Friday, 6am–2pm and 2pm–10pm. The role offers a competitive pay rate of £14.07 per hour for day shift.

In this role, you will join the end-of-line operations team as a detail-oriented Recorder. Your responsibilities will include stacking boxes, preparing pallets, and operating and calibrating tape machines, with full training provided. You will also play a vital part in maintaining accurate records of production output, ensuring that all documentation is completed to a high standard. The role involves building sound pallets according to the pallet specification, carrying out minor repairs on tape machines, recording all finished product generated by the shift, and repackaging any rejected packed product. Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards on the packing floor is an essential part of the position.
Suitable candidates will demonstrate a strong attention to detail, which is crucial for accurate record-keeping and ensuring pallets are built correctly. You will need basic literacy and numeracy skills to complete production paperwork, as well as the physical ability to lift and move boxes weighing up to 10kg. Effective teamwork and communication are essential, as you will work closely with production and warehouse colleagues to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

The role

Key accountabilities

• Referring to the pallet specification, build sound pallets of finished product enabling safe transport to the Warehouse for pallet wrapping. • Complete all relevant paperwork and record details of all finished product generated by the shift. • Open and repackage rejected packed product. Ensure the good housekeeping of the packing floor area.

Skills & experience

• Ability to evidence full right to work within the UK(student applicants must, be able to demonstrate this, as paid induction requires full 40 hours induction training) • Numerate, literate(written and oral communication) and the ability to work in a fast-paced people focused, team and or individual environments. • Understand and be comfortable working within a food manufacturing environment where hygiene principles are exceptionally important. (Training provided) • Experience in pallet building and being PC literate is desirable.
