Management Accountant
Location: Park Royal
Reed are acting on behalf of a long standing client in the food industry and we are seeking a Management Accountant to become a key member of our management accounts team. This role involves independently managing financial reporting, preparing accounting entries, management reports, and ensuring cost control for the company.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Independently manage financial reporting, including preparation of monthly management accounts, cash management, and payments.
*Support the production of monthly management accounts for the business, including analysis of the profit & loss account and management of full balance sheet reconciliations, including intercompany balances.
*Conduct weekly bank reconciliations and prepare quarterly management accounts.
*Analyse variances to budget and prior year, liaising with key stakeholders to conduct cost centre reviews and explain variances.
*Support the annual budget and forecasting processes.
*Assist with the management of sales and purchase ledgers, reconciliations, and support the team as needed.
*Handle VAT matters and Corporation tax, as well as statutory compliance.
*Work closely with the finance team during month-end, processing accruals, prepayments, and other necessary journals.
*Support the year-end process and annual audit, maintaining the fixed asset register throughout the year.
*Assist the finance manager with FX forecasting and weekly payment runs, providing cover as required.
*Controls and delivers effective FX cover for foreign currency transactions.
*Review and improve finance processes, ensuring they are fully documented.
*Support the team with the completion of ad hoc tasks as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Finalist / Part Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA) or qualified by experience.
*Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an Accounts Department, including accounts preparation and management of control accounts.
*Strong Microsoft Excel and data manipulation skills.
*Experience of the Food industry is desirable.
*Excellent communication and organisation skills.
*Accurate, numerate with good attention to detail.
*Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
*A strong team player with experience of the requirements and demands of customers.
