Job Description:
Nexus Recruitment have been instructed by a boutique travel agency in East Sussex on an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Finance Officer to join the senior leadership team. This role will be working closely with the Owners and the Managing Director, overseeing the day to day accounts. Core responsibilities:
*Maintain accurate accounting records in Xero for all income and expenditure
*Maintain accurate and consistent financial records between the in-house booking system and Xero, ensuring all bookings, payments, and adjustments are correctly reflected and reconciled
*Perform daily bank reconciliations
*Set up and process all UK sterling payments
*Set up and process foreign currency payments, particularly to Barbados
*Work with the Managing Director and budget holders to prepare quarterly and annual budgets and cash flow forecasts
*Monitor and report monthly performance against budget, highlighting variances
This is a fantastic opportunity to be the first hire within the finance team, which will see you be involved in all aspects of finance within the business for a small but successful business with exciting growth plans. What are we looking for?
*Previous experience with bookkeeping and bank reconciliations is essential
*AAT qualifications are preferred but not essential
*Previous experience with budget forecasting and working closely with Directors with monthly reports.
*Able to communicate effectively with external accountants and clients.
*Previous experience with Xero is a huge advantage.
