Service Manager (Street Scene) - Resident Services & Climate Change | 12+ Week Assignment (possible Temp to Perm)
Location: WGC Campus + Hybrid (2 days in office)
Hours: 37 per week
Hourly Rate: Flexible depending on experience
Are you an experienced operational leader with a passion for delivering high-quality environmental services? We’re looking for a proactive Service Manager (Street Scene) to join our Resident Services & Climate Change team on a temporary basis. Previous experience working with Waste Management and / or a Local Authority in a similar role is highly desirable for this role.
What You’ll Do
*Lead day-to-day delivery of waste & recycling, street cleansing, grounds maintenance, and open spaces.
*Drive procurement and negotiation of the Mixed Recycling Facility (MRF) contract.
*Lead the rollout of Simpler Recycling across the district.
*Oversee recruitment/extension of waste-related contracts.
*Monitor KPIs, contractor performance, and service quality.
What We’re Looking For
*Strong operational management experience in waste, recycling, or street scene services.
*Confident contract manager with procurement/negotiation skills.
*Experience delivering service changes or rollout programmes.
*Effective leader with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
*Performance-driven with the ability to analyse KPIs and drive improvement.
