Role: Credit Control Assistant
Location: Dewsbury
Salary: £27,000 pa
Hours: Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week, (flexible hours - 8.30-5pm, 9-5.30pm)

About the role:
Our client is a well established manufacturer based in Dewsbury, supplying high quality products to both residential and commercial markets worldwide are looking for an experienced Credit Control Assistant to join their busy accounts department.

This role is to provide support to the Credit Controller alongside additional finance responsibilities, whilst also additional support to the Customer Services department as and when required.

Key responsibilities of the Credit Control Assistant:

*Open and maintain new customer accounts, including obtaining trade references and conducting credit risk assessments.
*Monitor aged debt and proactively pursue overdue balances via telephone and email to ensure timely cash collection.
*Process card payments securely over the telephone and allocate receipts accurately within the ledger.
*Raise and issue credit notes in line with company policy, ensuring appropriate authorisation and accurate posting.
*Maintain accurate and up to date customer account records, ensuring data integrity across finance systems.
*Manage and respond to queries from internal stakeholders and external customers through the accounts mailbox, ensuring prompt resolution.
*Support the investigation and resolution of customer complaints, liaising with relevant departments where required.
*Provide telephone support and cover for the Customer Services department.
*Produce and maintain customer service reports to monitor performance and identify trends.

Skills & Experience Required:
*Proven experience of credit control and customer service, with strong general administrative skills.
*Exceptional attention to detail, particularly in maintaining accurate records.
*Excellent verbal communication skills, with confidence in handling customer queries over the telephone.
*IT literate.
*Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
