Job Description:
MRD Recruitment is currently recruiting a Purchasing Assistant to join one of our manufacturing clients based in Falkirk.
About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy manufacturing organisation as a Purchasing Assistant. You’ll work closely with the procurement and production teams to ensure materials, components, and services are ordered accurately and delivered on time. Your role will help keep production running smoothly, maintain strong supplier relationships, and support efficient stock management.

Key Responsibilities
*Raise and manage purchase orders in line with internal procedures
*Liaise with suppliers on pricing, lead times, availability, and delivery schedules
*Monitor and expedite orders to prevent production delays
*Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier records in ERP/MRP systems
*Match purchase orders, delivery notes, and invoices, resolving any discrepancies
*Assist with stock monitoring and reordering to maintain optimal inventory levels
*Produce basic procurement reports and support the Purchasing Manager as required
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
*Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain support
*Experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred
*Strong organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail
*Confident communicator, able to liaise with suppliers and internal teams
*Experience using ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel
*Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Desirable:
*Understanding of manufacturing processes and bills of materials
*Experience supporting production planning or inventory control
*Knowledge of procurement best practices
