Job Description:
Role: Part-time Finance Assistant
Location: Leeds, LS17
Salary: £21,500 pa (£26,500 FTE)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 32.5 hours per week, ideally 9am-4pm / 8.30am-2.30pm - flexible hours
About the role:
Our client, based in North Leeds, is seeking a proactive and detail oriented Part-time Finance Assistant to join their dynamic finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone ideally with a finance background and strong administrative skills to contribute to a busy and supportive department.
Key responsibilities of the Part-time Finance Assistant:
*Manage the end to end purchase ledger process, including invoice approvals, coding and accurate data entry.
*Prepare and process weekly, monthly and ad hoc supplier payment runs.
*Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.
*Reconcile company credit card statements, post transactions to the ledger and monitor credit limits.
*Maintain and reconcile petty cash records.
*Support the billing process, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing.
*Oversee and respond to the Group Finance inbox, resolving internal and external queries efficiently.
*Assist with pension file uploads to provider platforms, ensuring accuracy and compliance with deadlines.
*Contribute to financial projects and continuous process improvements within the finance function.
*Coordinate stock ordering and procurement for staff, maintaining adequate stationery and office supplies.
*Provide ad hoc support to the wider finance team as required.
Skills and Experience Required for the role:
*Previous experience within a finance role is desirable, however strong administration background would be considered.
*Strong IT proficiency, including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
*Sound understanding of general office procedures and best practice.
*High level of accuracy with strong numeracy and attention to detail.
*Effective written and verbal communication skills.
*Highly organised, with the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
*A collaborative team player with a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
