Salary: £30,000 – £32,000 per annum
Hours: Full-Time or Part-Time | Permanent
A well-established, family-run nursery in Fleet is seeking an experienced and passionate Deputy Manager to join their leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a key role within a highly regarded early years setting that has been part of the local community since 2009 and is rated Good by Ofsted.
The Setting
Located conveniently in the centre of Fleet, this flagship nursery cares for up to 110 children aged 3 months to 4 years in a warm, welcoming and homely environment. The nursery prides itself on delivering high-quality early years education and fostering strong relationships with families and the wider community.
The Role
As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Nursery Manager to lead and inspire a team of over 30 early years professionals. You will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of the nursery, ensuring exceptional standards of care, compliance, and curriculum delivery.
While primarily a supernumerary role, you will be hands-on when needed, leading by example and supporting the team within ratio where required.
Key Responsibilities
*Support the Nursery Manager in leading, motivating and developing a large staff team
*Oversee daily operations including staffing, occupancy and parent partnerships
*Ensure full compliance with EYFS, safeguarding and health & safety requirements
*Act as Designated Deputy in the Manager’s absence
*Lead on staff mentoring, supervisions and professional development
*Build strong relationships with parents, including conducting show rounds and supporting registrations
*Promote inclusion and equality to ensure positive outcomes for all children
Candidate Requirements
*Minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare (essential)
*GCSE or Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths
*Experience in a senior or Room Leader role within a nursery (Deputy or Acting Manager experience desirable)
*Strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding and current childcare legislation
*Up-to-date Paediatric First Aid and Safeguarding training
*Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills
*A proactive, positive and passionate approach to early years
