Job Description:
We are currently working on behalf of a highly regarded, modern dental laboratory located on the Devon coastline. This laboratory has an excellent reputation for quality, innovation, and long-standing clinical relationships, and is now seeking an experienced Dental Technician / Laboratory Manager to lead and develop their laboratory team.
This is a rare opportunity for a senior technician with strong Crown & Bridge expertise to step into a leadership role within a progressive laboratory, while enjoying an exceptional coastal lifestyle.
The RoleReporting directly to the owners, the successful candidate will take responsibility for both the technical output and the operational management of the laboratory. This is a hands-on position requiring a high level of technical skill alongside strong leadership and organisational capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
*Overall management of the dental laboratory and technical team
*Hands-on delivery and oversight of complex Crown & Bridge cases
*Leadership, mentoring, and development of technicians at all levels
*Ensuring consistent quality standards and regulatory compliance (GDC)
*Managing workflow, turnaround times, and production schedules
*Liaising with dentists and clients to support clinical outcomes
*Oversight of digital workflows including CAD/CAM and related technologies
*Responsibility for stock control, equipment, and supplier relationships
*Supporting strategic planning and ongoing growth of the laboratory
Candidate RequirementsEssential:
*GDC-registered Dental Technician
*Proven experience in Crown & Bridge (essential)
*Significant experience working within a dental laboratory environment
*Previous laboratory management or senior supervisory experience
*Strong technical knowledge and attention to detail
*Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
Desirable:
*Experience with advanced digital dentistry workflows (CAD/CAM, milling, 3D printing)
*Background working with high-end private or cosmetic dental cases
*Commercial awareness and experience contributing to business performance
Salary & Benefits*Salary up to £70,000, dependent on experience
