Job Description:
Reception Teaching Assistant
Are you passionate about sparking curiosity in the classroom? We are looking for an enthusiastic and nurturing Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant Reception team at a friendly primary school in Wigan.
This is a full-time, 5-days-a-week role starting as soon as possible. If you love the "lightbulb moments" of early years development and don’t mind getting stuck into some messy play, we want to hear from you!
The Role
As a Reception TA, you will be the right hand to the class teacher, helping our youngest learners find their feet. Your day-to-day will include:
Supporting pupils during indoor and outdoor continuous provision.
Leading small groups for Phonics (Read Write Inc./Letters and Sounds) and basic numeracy.
Helping to create an engaging, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
Assisting with observations and tracking the progress of the children.
Energy: Someone who can keep up with the pace of a busy Reception class!
Communication: The ability to build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and staff.
Reliability: This is an ongoing, full-time commitment (Monday - Friday, approx. 8:30 am - 3:30 pm).
What We’re Looking For-
Experience: Previous experience working within an EYFS or Nursery setting.
Qualifications: A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained
You must have the legal right to work in the UK
