Job Description:
Meraki Talent are partnering with an investment bank who are looking to make an executive hire for a Regulatory Solicitor.
As a Vice President within the Legal Regulatory function, you will provide specialist, non-contentious regulatory advice to business teams and key stakeholders. You will play a critical role in ensuring that new and existing regulatory requirements are effectively interpreted, implemented, and embedded, enabling the business to achieve its objectives while proactively managing legal risk.
Key Duties will include;
*Provide advanced, high-quality legal advice on complex financial services regulatory matters.
*Advise on UK regulated perimeter issues and regulatory change implementation projects.
*Support and review submissions to governance forums (e.g. Transaction Approval and New Activity Committees).
*Amend and review documentation to reflect regulatory requirements (e.g. terms of business, onboarding documentation).
*Contribute to regulatory watch processes, including impact assessments and dashboard reviews.
*Deliver regulatory training to legal colleagues and business stakeholders.
*Support advocacy initiatives relating to consultation papers and regulatory change.
*Develop internal legal policies
*Oversee and mentor junior team members, ensuring quality, efficiency, and best practice.
*Manage relationships with senior stakeholders and escalate key risks appropriately.
*Instruct and oversee external counsel where necessary, maintaining cost efficiency and quality standards.
*Complete risk reporting for advisory matters and projects.
Applicants should be fully qualified, with extensive experience advising on non-contentious UK and European financial services regulations (e.g. MiFID II, EMIR, PSD2, CSDR, ESG regulatory frameworks, FSMA, FCA/PRA Handbook). Additionally, it is imperative applicants have strong experience supporting regulatory implementation and change projects. Together with excellent analytical skills, with the ability to convert technical legal requirements into clear, commercial guidance to senior stakeholders.
This is a high-impact role at the centre of regulatory strategy and implementation, which will see applicants shape regulatory interpretation across multiple business areas, and engage directly with senior stakeholders and governance bodies.
