Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 (dependent on experience, flexibility for the right candidate) Location: Salford
Overview An established and growing environmental consultancy is looking to appoint a BNG Consultant to join a dedicated Biodiversity Net Gain team. This role would suit either an early-career ecologist with hands-on BNG exposure who wants to specialise further, or an individual already working within a BNG-focused role looking to deepen their technical expertise.
You will join a collaborative team of BNG specialists, supporting the delivery of Biodiversity Net Gain assessments across a range of development projects, with clear scope for progression as the service line continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities * Supporting the delivery of Biodiversity Net Gain assessments in line with current legislation and best practice
* Assisting with habitat condition assessments, baseline calculations and BNG metric inputs
* Contributing to BNG reports, technical notes and supporting documentation
* Liaising with internal teams, planners and external stakeholders where required
* Undertaking site visits as part of project delivery
* Developing technical capability with the aim of progressing into a specialist BNG role
Candidate Requirements * 1-2 years’ experience in ecology or environmental consultancy with exposure to BNG work
* Current experience working in a Biodiversity Net Gain-focused role
* Understanding of Biodiversity Net Gain principles and the BNG Metric
* Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science or a related discipline
* Full UK driving licence or ability to attend site visits
* Keen interest in specialising within Biodiversity Net Gain
