Salary: £70,000 + car allowance
Hybrid working available - 2/3 days in the office
An established, multi-entity organisation is seeking a technically strong and commercially astute Group Financial Accountant to join its Finance function. This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for consolidated reporting, statutory compliance, financial governance and the oversight of finance teams across multiple locations.
This opportunity would suit a qualified accountant who thrives in a complex group structure and is confident taking ownership of reporting integrity, controls and external relationships.
The Role
The Group Financial Accountant will play a key role in ensuring accurate, timely and compliant financial reporting across the organisation. You will lead finance teams, strengthen governance frameworks and provide technical expertise across a range of accounting matters.
Key Responsibilities
*Lead and develop finance teams, ensuring consistent standards, strong controls and high-quality delivery
*Oversee the preparation and review of monthly management accounts
*Take ownership of consolidated Group reporting, including P&L, balance sheet and cashflow
*Ensure the integrity of financial data through robust reconciliation and review processes
*Maintain and enhance financial governance, policies and internal control frameworks
*Lead the preparation of statutory financial statements and coordinate the year-end process
*Manage external audit relationships and oversee audit delivery
*Oversee tax compliance and liaise with external advisers where required
*Manage key external financial relationships, including banks and funding partners
*Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions and accounting treatments
*Support budgeting, forecasting and longer-term financial planning
*Contribute to strategic initiatives, acquisitions, system implementations and organisational change projects
About You
You will be a qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) with a strong background in financial accounting within a multi-entity environment.
Experience and Skills
*Minimum five years’ experience in financial accounting
*Strong experience in statutory reporting, audit and financial governance
*Multi-entity and group reporting exposure
*Proven leadership and team management capability
*Strong understanding of P&L, balance sheet and cashflow management
*Experience overseeing tax compliance and working with external advisers
*Strong technical accounting expertise with the ability to interpret and apply standards effectively
Desirable
*Audit background (Big 4 or mid-tier)
*Exposure to M&A activity, financing or investor reporting
Personal Profile
*Confident leader with strong stakeholder management skills
*Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
*Technically rigorous with excellent attention to detail
*Commercially aware and solutions-focused
*Comfortable operating independently within a complex environment
