Job Description:
Teaching Assistant
*Job Type: Part-time (4 Hours per day, 5 days a week)
*Location: Horsham
*Salary: £13-£15 per hour
We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a Year 10 student with an EHCP. This role requires a compassionate individual who can provide tailored support within our SEN unit from 8.30 am to 12.30 pm daily. The ideal candidate will have PECCS experience and a background in secondary school SEN support.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Provide one-to-one support to a Year 10 student, focusing on both academic and emotional needs.
*Assist the student with lesson comprehension and participation, adapting methods to suit their learning style.
*Support the student in building confidence and managing low self-esteem through positive reinforcement and tailored encouragement.
*Work closely with the SEN unit to monitor and report on the student’s progress.
*Maintain a flexible approach to adapt to the student’s needs and respond to varying challenges.
*Foster a nurturing and supportive relationship with the student to enhance their educational experience.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Experience with PECCS and supporting SEN students at the secondary school level.
*Proven ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and resilience.
*Strong interpersonal skills to build a positive rapport with students.
*Flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of the student and the educational environment.
*Commitment to professional development and learning in the field of special educational needs.
