SEMH Teaching Assistant

I C Talent is working in partnership with a specialist provision in Corby to recruit a committed and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant for a full-time, permanent position.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated support professional who is passionate about working with pupils with additional needs and making a meaningful difference within a structured, nurturing, and well-supported environment.
About the SchoolThe provision caters for pupils aged 4–18 years with a wide range of special educational needs. Places are commissioned by North Northamptonshire Local Authority for children and young people who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
The school is committed to delivering personalised learning pathways that support academic progress, emotional development, and independence, ensuring every pupil is given the opportunity to thrive.
The RoleAs an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, alongside other SEND requirements such as Autism (ASC), ADHD, and moderate learning difficulties.
You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to support students in accessing learning and achieving their EHCP targets. A calm, patient, and proactive approach is essential, as well as the ability to build strong, trusting relationships.
Key Responsibilities*Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH and SEND needs
*Assist in implementing personalised learning plans and EHCP targets
*Support behaviour management strategies and emotional regulation
*Help create a safe, structured, and positive learning environment
*Monitor pupil engagement and progress
*Work collaboratively with teaching staff and pastoral teams
*Maintain safeguarding standards and follow school policies at all times
About You*Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or SEND needs
*Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
*Calm, patient, and resilient approach
*Ability to build positive and professional relationships
*Team player with a proactive attitude
*Passionate about supporting vulnerable learners
