Job Description:
*London
*£34,000 - £44,000 DOE
We’re recruiting for a fast-growing FMCG / lifestyle supplier brand, distributing innovative ranges into major UK retailers.
They’re looking for a Buying Assistant / BAA (supplier side) to become the operational engine behind one of their most strategically important retail accounts.
This isn’t a traditional retailer Buying Assistant role. This is full SKU lifecycle ownership from a supplier perspective: managing launches, coordinating global supply partners, owning the critical path, and ensuring every product lands in-store on time and to spec.
You’ll sit at the centre of Account Management, Product Development, Purchasing, Design and international suppliers, acting as the key link between internal teams and retail buyers.
If you love product, thrive on organisation, enjoy detail, and take pride in making launches happen seamlessly, this role is for you.
This would be perfect for someone who is:
*A Buying Assistant, BAA, Product Admin, Account Executive or PD Assistant ready for broader ownership
*Highly organised and naturally proactive, the person everyone relies on
*Detail-driven, with real pride in data accuracy and process
*Commercially curious and keen to understand how product, margin and retail partnerships connect
The Role
You’ll manage the end-to-end product journey across multiple ranges, ensuring accurate setup, launch readiness and ongoing continuity management across major UK retail accounts.
Key Responsibilities
*Set up and maintain accurate product and costing data across internal systems and retailer portals
*Own and manage critical paths, proactively chasing internal teams and suppliers to keep launches on track
*Coordinate artwork, packaging and print approvals (including gold seal samples)
*Oversee testing documentation, compliance paperwork and technical submissions
*Manage retailer approval systems and online portals
*Monitor continuity lines, price changes and regulatory updates
*Track samples, approvals and supplier documentation end-to-end
*Support account managers with launch preparation and retail readiness
*Attend comp shops around key launches to review in-store execution
*Attend customer meetings at key seasonal milestones
This is a commercially critical role with high visibility internally and externally. It’s ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career on the supplier side, with genuine progression routes into Product Development, Commercial / Account Management or Buying & Sourcing.
A brilliant opportunity for someone who wants to step beyond traditional BAA responsibilities and gain full lifecycle ownership within a fast-paced, high-growth retail supplier.
Diversity & Inclusion: ILMJ values diversity, equality and inclusion and encourages applicants from all backgrounds and identities.
