Job Description:
CBAM Manager
*Hybrid (UK-based with European travel)

Beam Recruit is partnering with a well-established international organisation to recruit a CBAM Manager. This is a newly created and strategically important role, responsible for leading the organisation’s compliance, reporting, and commercial response to the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).
This opportunity would suit a sustainability or regulatory professional who combines strong technical carbon knowledge with commercial awareness and cross-functional leadership skills.
The Role
As CBAM Manager, you will take ownership of the organisation’s CBAM strategy and compliance framework, ensuring accurate reporting and financial readiness as CBAM transitions from its reporting phase to financial enforcement from 2026 onwards.
You will work closely with Sustainability, Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, Legal, and Commercial teams to ensure alignment and effective implementation.
Key Responsibilities
*Lead and manage CBAM compliance activities in line with EU regulatory requirements
*Interpret CBAM legislation, implementing acts, and regulatory guidance
*Prepare and submit quarterly reports via the EU CBAM Transitional Registry
*Develop readiness plans for the definitive phase, including certificate management and cost impact planning
*Oversee the collection, validation, and management of embedded emissions data
*Support and refine emissions calculation methodologies
*Partner with suppliers to improve data quality, completeness, and transparency
*Liaise with third-party consultants and verifiers where required
*Embed CBAM considerations into sourcing and procurement processes
*Monitor ongoing regulatory developments relating to CBAM and EU climate policy
*Identify compliance risks and improvement opportunities
*Contribute to broader sustainability and ESG initiatives where required
About You
We are keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:
*Experience in CBAM, carbon accounting, sustainability compliance, or trade regulation
*Strong understanding of greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting principles (GHG Protocol / ISO standards desirable)
*Experience working with emissions data, supply chain reporting, or product-level environmental data
*The ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory frameworks
*Experience collaborating cross-functionally with Finance, Supply Chain, Sustainability, and Legal teams
Desirable:
*Familiarity with EU ETS, LCA, or product carbon footprinting
*Experience within manufacturing or energy-intensive environments
*Knowledge of customs processes and trade compliance frameworks
*Sustainability or environmental certifications (e.g., ISO 14064, LCA training)
Education & Experience
*Degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, Economics, Public Policy, Law, Business, or related field
*2–5+ years’ relevant experience in sustainability, carbon accounting, regulatory compliance, or EU climate policy
Additional Information
*Hybrid working model (remote and office-based)
*Up to 25% travel across the UK and Europe
*Strong written and spoken English and French required
*Proficiency in Microsoft Office
*Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
