Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant - ASD Unit (Primary) Pimlico, Westminster
Full-time | Term-time | Immediate / Upcoming Start
We are seeking a Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated primary school ASD unit based in Pimlico. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced SEN professional to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder in a structured, nurturing environment designed to meet a wide range of needs.
The Role:
*Supporting children with ASD on a 1:1 and small group basis
*Working within a specialist provision/unit attached to a mainstream primary school
*Assisting with individual learning plans, routines, and regulation strategies
*Supporting communication, social interaction and emotional regulation
*Implementing visual timetables, PECS, sensory strategies and behaviour support plans
*Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider multidisciplinary team
The Ideal Candidate:
*Proven experience supporting pupils with ASD in a primary setting
*Confident managing sensory needs, anxiety and challenging behaviour
*Calm, patient and consistent approach
*Understanding of EHCPs and personalised learning targets
*Team player with a proactive and flexible mindset
*Relevant SEN training or qualifications highly desirable
