Job Description:
Temporary A-Level Physics Lecturer
Location: Birmingham - Longbridge
Contract: Temporary 22-24 hours per week
Start Date: ASAP
Hourly Rate: Competitive, dependent on experience
A large, well-established college in Longbridge, Birmingham is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic A-Level Physics Lecturer to join their Science department on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced educator, or a skilled industry professional with teaching experience, to support motivated learners and contribute to high-quality teaching within a thriving further education environment.
Responsibilities
*Deliver engaging and well-structured A-Level Physics lessons to students aged 16–19
*Plan, prepare and assess learner work in line with awarding body requirements
*Support students’ academic progress through effective feedback and guidance
*Contribute to departmental planning, standardisation and quality processes
*Maintain a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment
Requirements
*Degree in Physics or a closely related discipline
*Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, QTS, or equivalent) — or willingness to work towards one
*Experience teaching A-Level Physics in a college or school setting
*Strong communication and classroom-management skills
*Ability to engage and inspire learners of mixed abilities
