Job Description:
Here at Ruby Energy we continue tor grow and we have an exciting position available for a Settlements Manager to join our dynamic team based within our offices in Fleetwood Lancashire
We are looking for an experienced Settlements Manager to lead the accurate and compliant delivery of B2B gas and electricity settlements. You will manage and develop the settlements team, oversee performance, ensure industry compliance, mitigate risk, and drive process improvements. Working with internal and external stakeholders, you will play a key role in protecting financial integrity and supporting industry change, including MHHS.
Please note this is a full time onsite role in Fleetwood, Lancashire and the ideal candidate must be able to commute on site daily as this role is not Hybrid role

Main Responsibilities (but not limited to):
Settlements Delivery & Performance:
*Lead the end-to-end delivery of B2B gas and electricity settlements, ensuring all activities are completed accurately, on time, and in line with industry settlement calendars and service level agreements. Monitor operational performance, analyse trends, and implement corrective actions to consistently meet or exceed targets for quality, timeliness, and financial accuracy.
Industry Compliance & Risk Management:
*Ensure full compliance with industry codes and regulatory requirements, including obligations under the Balancing and Settlement Code, Uniform Network Code, and Ofgem. Identify and mitigate settlement risks, manage exposure, support audit activities, and ensure robust controls are maintained to protect the business from financial and regulatory impact
Process Optimisation & Continuous Improvement:
*Review and enhance settlement processes, controls, and workflows to improve efficiency, reduce errors, and strengthen financial accuracy. Leverage data, automation opportunities, and industry insight to drive continuous operational improvement and cost effectiveness.
Team Leadership & Capability Development:
*Lead, coach, and develop team leaders and analysts to build a knowledgeable and resilient settlements function. Set clear objectives, manage performance, support technical development, and create a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
*Work closely with internal teams including Billing, Metering, Finance, Customer Operations, and Regulation to ensure alignment on settlement impacts and issue resolution. Engage with external industry bodies, data providers, and third-party agents to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate industry data flows.
Issue Resolution & Exception Management:
*Oversee the investigation and resolution of complex settlement discrepancies, reconciliation issues, and industry exceptions. Ensure root cause analysis is completed and preventative actions are implemented to minimise recurrence.
Change & Industry Reform Support:
*Support the implementation of industry and organisational change initiatives, including system enhancements and regulatory reforms such as the Market-wide Half-Hourly Settlement Programme. Provide operational expertise to ensure successful adoption with minimal business disruption.
Self-Driven Learning:
*Continuously develop technical knowledge and skills, particularly related to industry meter systems and operational processes, through self-directed learning to enhance expertise and service quality.
