Successful candidates will be interviewed and placed into a suitable team based on experience and service need, as determined by Service Managers. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking authority committed to improving outcomes for children and young people.

About the Role As a Senior Social Worker within Children in Care, you will manage complex caseloads, lead on permanency planning, and deliver high-quality, child-centred practice. This role offers hybrid working, with flexibility balanced against service and team requirements.
This 13-month contract provides stability, competitive pay, and the opportunity to work within supportive and experienced teams.

Key Responsibilities*Undertake comprehensive assessments and develop outcome-focused care plans
*Manage and lead complex cases involving children in care
*Progress permanency planning, including long-term placements and court work where required
*Work effectively within multi-agency partnerships (education, health, safeguarding, legal services)
*Provide mentoring and guidance to less experienced social workers
*Maintain accurate, high-quality case recordings in line with statutory requirements
*Ensure all interventions promote safeguarding, stability, and positive long-term outcomes
Candidate Requirements*Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration
*Significant post-qualifying experience within Children’s Services
*Strong background in Children in Care or safeguarding teams
*Confident managing complex cases and court proceedings
*Excellent assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills
*Ability to work independently and within a team environment
*Flexibility to attend the office when required
