Education Welfare Officer
Location: Wolverhampton
Contract Type: Temporary
Hourly Rate: £15.56 per hour (PAYE)
Working Pattern: Full Time (Monday - Friday, 37 hours per week, Term Time Only)
Start Date: ASAP
Driving Required: Yes due to travel being required to conduct visits.

About the Role:
As an Education Welfare Officer, you will be an essential part of the Inclusion Support Service. Your primary role will be to work collaboratively with designated schools to enhance attendance, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to succeed. This temporary position offers an exciting chance to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
*Work closely with schools to address attendance concerns and promote positive school engagement.
*Conduct home visits and meetings to support families where attendance issues arise.
*Collaborate with a variety of professionals and agencies to ensure a holistic approach to student welfare.
*Participate in case meetings and contribute to safeguarding initiatives as necessary.
*Assist in the preparation of cases for Penalty Notices and parental prosecutions related to unauthorised absences.
*Engage actively in professional development and maintain accurate records of interventions.
You Will Need:
*Previous experience as an attendance officer or in a similar role within a UK school.
*Strong IT skills for data entry, report writing, and using in-house software systems.
*Confidence in face-to-face interactions and the ability to build rapport with students and families.
*Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
