Job Description:
NJR Recruitment is working with a growing commercial insurance brokerage looking to strengthen its Commercial team with the appointment of a New Business Account Handler. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys the pace and energy of new business, and who takes real pride in delivering a smooth, professional client journey from first enquiry through to policy inception.
You will be central to onboarding new commercial clients - gathering information, negotiating with insurers, preparing quotations and ensuring everything is in place accurately and compliantly. Working closely with insurers and internal stakeholders, you will help secure competitive terms while creating a positive first impression that sets the tone for long-term relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
*Responding to new business enquiries, gathering risk information and supporting the preparation and presentation of quotations.
*Liaising with insurers to obtain competitive terms aligned to client requirements.
*Assisting with onboarding new clients, ensuring documentation and communications are accurate and professional.
*Supporting early client relationships and identifying opportunities to enhance coverage.
*Building and maintaining effective relationships with insurer partners to support placement of new business.
*Assisting with market presentations and negotiations under senior guidance.
*Managing client data, transactions and policy documentation through the CRM system.
*Monitoring tasks to ensure service standards and deadlines are consistently met.
*Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders to support new business acquisition.
*Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining up-to-date product and market knowledge.
What we are looking for:
*Proven experience within a commercial insurance account handling or client service role, ideally with exposure to new business.
*Sound understanding of insurance processes, market placements and policy documentation.
*Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
*Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
*Good problem-solving capability.
*Clear and confident verbal and written communication skills.
*Proficiency in Acturis preferred, alongside strong MS Office skills.
*A customer-focused, professional and proactive approach with a willingness to learn.
