Place in Organisation: Venue Operations Team


MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
To ensure the safe and efficient operation of the race circuit through vigilant track monitoring, proactive incident management, and high standards of customer service. The Track Marshal is a key part of the Daytona experience, responsible for ensuring driver safety, enforcing racing protocols, and supporting race control to deliver an exciting and professional event.


GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Track Operations
*Monitor the circuit from assigned marshal posts and maintain full situational awareness throughout each session.
*Use flags, lights, and radio communication effectively and in accordance with training and regulations.
*Respond quickly and safely to on-track incidents, recovering karts and assisting drivers as required.
*Maintain control of the pit lane and start/finish areas, ensuring they are kept clear and organised.
*Perform kart recovery and relocation tasks safely using correct manual handling techniques and PPE.


Event Support
*Assist with the preparation of the circuit and pit lane prior to race sessions including cone layout, signage, tyre barriers and briefing areas.
*Ensure accurate implementation of event procedures as directed by the Race Director.
*Proactively communicate with the Race Director regarding any safety issues, unusual driver behaviour, or mechanical concerns.


Customer Service
*Provide a warm, professional, and engaging experience for all customers, in line with Daytona’s customer care goals.
*Interact with customers with enthusiasm, clarity, and professionalism, especially during incidents or briefings.
*Help drivers enter and exit karts safely and efficiently, offering guidance where necessary.


Venue Presentation & Safety
*Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of all trackside areas including marshal posts, pit lane, paddock, and customer waiting areas.
*Perform daily checks on track, marshal posts, and fencing to ensure compliance with health & safety standards.
*Report hazards, defects, or unsafe behaviours to management promptly.


Administrative Duties
*Review and understand the daily staff rota and attend work on time as scheduled.
*Maintain accurate logs (verbal or written) of incidents as required by the Race Director.
*Attend all mandatory team briefings, training sessions, and operational updates.


Relationships
*Reports to: Senior Track Marshal / Duty Manager
*Works with: All track staff, front of house, and venue support teams
*External contacts: Customers and participants


Authority & Decision-Making
*Acts under the direction of the Race Director or General Manager.
*Can make safety-related decisions trackside in line with training and company protocols.
*Must escalate serious incidents or customer complaints to management.


Performance Standards
*Consistently uphold Daytona’s standards for customer service, safety, and professionalism.
*Attend all scheduled shifts punctually and in full uniform.
*Maintain a proactive and safety-first approach during all sessions.
*Demonstrate excellent communication, teamwork, and reliability.
*Uphold strict confidentiality on all internal matters and incidents.


Personal Attributes & Requirements
*A genuine interest in motorsport, racing, or mechanical operations.
*Strong spatial awareness and ability to stay alert for extended periods.
*Physically fit and capable of handling kart recovery, track duties, and emergency response.
*Team player with a positive attitude and calm under pressure.
*Willingness to work weekends, evenings, bank holidays, and in varying weather conditions.
*Commitment to ongoing training and skill development.


Uniform & Equipment
*Full uniform and PPE (hi-vis, gloves, radios, etc.) must be worn at all times when on duty.
*You are responsible for maintaining and returning company-issued uniform in good condition.


Health & Safety Responsibility - All staff must:
*Take reasonable care for their own health and safety and that of others.
*Follow safe working practices at all times.
*Report accidents, incidents, and near misses immediately to a supervisor or the Health & Safety Officer.
