Job Description:
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary are seeking a highly organised and proactive Forensic Services Training & Quality Assistant to provide comprehensive administrative, quality, and training support across the Forensic Services Department.
This role plays a vital part in ensuring the effective operation of forensic services by supporting quality management processes, coordinating training activities, maintaining accurate records, and providing high-quality administrative support within a regulated and confidential environment.
This is an initial 6-month contract position based at the Netley, Southampton site and offers hybrid working, the hourly rate for the role is £14.10 + holiday and benefits.
Key Responsibilities
As a Forensic Services Training & Quality Assistant, you will:
*Manage and maintain the Quality Management internal audit schedule, supporting the monitoring of Non-Conforming Work (NCW), proficiency schemes, and other quality-related processes
*Accurately update and maintain procedures and documentation within agreed deadlines
*Provide general administrative support, including ordering stationery and equipment, diary management, booking meeting rooms, and taking minutes
*Confidently use a range of IT systems, maintaining spreadsheets, databases, filing systems, and entering data accurately
*Produce management information and reports as required
*Support forensic units with ad-hoc administrative tasks and assist in other areas of Forensic Services work when required
*Support and manage software databases across Forensic Services and partner organisations (including HSS and HFRS)
*Coordinate Forensic Services training schedules, supporting continued professional development (CPD)
*Manage assessment schedules, training events, and maintain the Quality Management System in relation to training
*Schedule and coordinate all classroom training, compiling and reporting training attendance, evaluations, and results
*Manage training materials in line with regulatory requirements
*Greet visitors to the building and provide joining instructions and accommodation support
*Maintain training tracking processes, issue certifications, and communicate training outcomes
*Work closely with Forensic Services Management to maximise training opportunities across the department
*Coordinate trainer and assessor meetings
*Deliver a consistent, high-quality service to internal and external stakeholders
