This business is the leading manufacturer of frozen confectionery products in Europe with the company’s UK Business Unit based in near Leeds, Northern England. This UK office is responsible for the Sales, Marketing and Supply Chain Management of a large range of branded and private label products which are distributed to a wide variety of retail and food service customers globally. The company’s UK business unit is seeking a placement student to join the team as a New Product Development Assistant, to complement the expanding global business in this sector. If you are enthusiastic, focussed, and ambitious with the desire to develop in a thriving business then this could be the right placement for you.


Responsibilities:


*Within this role you will be working closely with the German head office keeping in regular communication through regular emails and calls.
*As well as working with the internal team members you will be liaising directly with customers to ensure that strict deadlines are adhered to prior to the launch of new products/projects.
*You will use internal system to oversee the whole NPD admin process and ensure customer samples are ordered and delivered on time.
*You will also use market research data to monitor market developments to stay on top of current trends.
*As part of your role you will be preparing Presentations on new products and attending meetings about with key customers to propose new ideas and products.


What you will offer to the role:


*You will have a Food Technology Degree (other Food related Degrees are applicable)
*You will be interested in New Product Development and Commercial Management
*You are solution driven with the ability to make recommendations for improvement
*Have good computer skills (Excel and PowerPoint are essential)
*You will have great interpersonal and team working skills
*You should be self-motivation and good organisational skills
*If you can speak German it is preferable, but not essential
*A drive to work in a challenging environment
*Have the ability to work reactively in a dynamic industry

Details


*This will be a 12 month contract
*39 hours per week (8:30am - 17:00pm Monday to Thursday, 8:30am - 16:00pm on Friday)
*20 Holiday days plus bank holidays (in lieu if worked)
*Start date is July/ August
*You will be required to travel occasionally for this role however a driving license is not required


This is a sandwich placement opportunity open to students who are required to complete a placement between their second and final years. Only applicants who will still be enrolled on a course of study and looking for a placement year will be considered. You will receive an allowance of £1,250pcm + paid accommodation (With other placement students), Utilities are also included.
