The Lodge is a charming detached home in Langport, set beside Immacolata House and surrounded by stunning Somerset countryside. It offers dedicated care and support for individuals with learning disabilities
Home Manager | The Lodge Care Home | Langport, Somerset
£40,000 per annum up to 40% annual bonus Private Medical Insurance
This Is the Kind of Home Where Everyone Knows Your Name.
Not because they have to. Because they want to.
The Lodge is a specialist learning disabilities home supporting just three residents. It’s calm. It’s personal. It’s filled with familiar routines, shared laughter, and a team who genuinely care about one another.
This isn’t a home where you disappear into paperwork or hide behind an office door.
This is a home where leadership is felt. Every single day.
Our current Home Manager has been promoted internally, a reflection of the strength of our wider group and the opportunities that come with it. Now, we’re looking for someone new to step into this role and become part of The Lodge’s story.
A role where leadership feels different
At The Lodge, you’ll work alongside a small, loyal team who are used to working closely with their manager. They will look to you for guidance, reassurance, and support. Not because they have to. Because good leaders make people feel safe and confident.
You’ll know each resident as an individual, their routines, their preferences, and the little things that help them feel comfortable and happy in their home.
You’ll build genuine relationships with families, becoming someone they trust and turn to.
The home is fully occupied and proudly rated Good by the Care Quality Commission. Your role is to build on that strong foundation, maintaining quality, stability, and warmth.
This isn’t about filling beds or chasing numbers.
It’s about protecting a home that already works, and helping it continue to thrive.
What makes this role so special
You’ll have the autonomy to lead your home properly, without layers of distance or bureaucracy. You’ll be supported by an experienced Regional Director and wider quality team, but day-to-day, this is your home to lead.
You’ll see the impact of your leadership immediately, in your team’s confidence, in your residents’ happiness, and in the calm, positive atmosphere you create.
And when you leave at the end of the day, you’ll know exactly why your role matters.
The person who will love it here
You might already be a Home Manager, or perhaps you’re a Deputy Manager who’s ready for that next step.
You’ll understand learning disabilities care. You’ll know the importance of consistency, empathy, and strong leadership. You’ll be approachable, hands-on, and someone your team feels comfortable turning to.
You’ll be the kind of person who naturally checks in on people. Who notices when someone needs support. Who leads with kindness, but also with clarity.
Most importantly, you’ll care about creating a home where people feel safe, valued, and understood.
What you’ll receive
*£40,000 per annum
*Up to 40% annual bonus
*Private medical insurance
*Pension
*5.6 weeks annual leave
Real support from an experienced and stable wider group
A home you can truly call your own
Some leadership roles are about scale.
This one is about connection.
At The Lodge, your leadership won’t be measured by how many people you manage, but by how well you care for the people who live and work there.
