Interim Head of Procurement (Estates & Capital Projects)
Hybrid Role – Rare office visits
£500 – £550 per day (via Umbrella)

We are seeking an experienced former Head of Procurement with significant Estates and Capital Projects expertise to support a large and complex portfolio of work.
This role requires a senior procurement leader capable of running a high volume of projects in an agile manner, while simultaneously conducting a comprehensive process review to improve efficiency, governance and delivery.
The RoleYou will provide strategic leadership across the Estates and Capital Projects category, ensuring robust commercial strategy, compliance and value for money across a substantial programme of works.
Key responsibilities include:
*Lead and manage a large portfolio of Estates and Capital Projects procurements in an agile and delivery-focused manner
*Conduct a full review of procurement processes, identifying improvement opportunities and implementing best practice
*Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned to organisational and sustainability objectives
*Develop individual procurement plans that meet both category and sustainability requirements
*Manage large-scale tenders across Estates and Capital Projects
*Negotiate Value for Money (VfM) commercial arrangements
*Provide compliance advice across Estates procurement activity
*Ensure organisational interests are robustly reflected within commercial deals
*Assess demand against existing contracts and develop transition plans for new suppliers where required
*Develop and implement a tiered Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) framework appropriate to supplier criticality
*Interpret Grant Award Letters and draft/manage supplier contracts that underpin funding conditions
*Oversee Hard FM procurement and contract management activity
Candidate Requirements*Former Head of Procurement (or operating at that level)
*Significant Estates and Capital Projects procurement experience
*Proven experience managing Hard FM contracts
*Strong commercial strategy background
*Experience running multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced, agile environment
*Demonstrated ability to conduct process reviews and implement procurement improvements
*Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence executive-level stakeholders
*Ability to present complex information clearly and drive strategic decision-making
