Location: Barnsley

The Opportunity
Our client is a well-regarded, multi-office professional services firm offering accountancy, tax, and advisory services to a diverse client base. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Manager or Senior Manager to join their Barnsley office, where you will play a key role in leadership, client delivery, and strategic development.
This role offers genuine progression, long-term career security, and the chance to become a senior figure within the practice.
The Role
As Manager, you will be responsible for managing client relationships, leading a team, and supporting the wider strategic direction of the firm. You will work closely with Directors and Partners and receive structured support and mentorship toward future Directorship.
Key responsibilities include:
*Managing a varied portfolio of clients, delivering high-quality accounting, tax, and advisory services
*Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of accountants
*Supporting business development and identifying opportunities for growth
*Working closely with senior leadership on strategy and office development
*Ensuring compliance and consistently high levels of client service
The Successful Candidate
You will be:
*Proactive and organised
*A confident and effective communicator

Qualifications & Experience:
*ACA or ACCA qualified
*Strong practice background with ideally 3+ years PQE
*Experience operating at Manager, Senior Manager, or equivalent level
*Proven ability to manage own workload and support team development
*Strong IT skills (Office 365, Sage, Xero, QuickBooks)
*Fully competent with accounts preparation software (IRIS preferred)
*Demonstrable experience managing a mixed client portfolio and contributing to business development
