Caretaker
*Location: Manchester
*Job Type: Full-time, Temp
*Rate: 14.02
Join Manchester City Council’s Housing Service in the Neighbourhoods Directorate as a Caretaker for high-rise buildings. This role is crucial in maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and overall management of the building facilities, ensuring a high standard of service and security for all residents.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Ensure the building(s) and grounds are cleaned and maintained to a high standard, including management of repairs in communal areas.
*Manage the health & safety of the building(s), ensuring relevant risk assessments are undertaken.
*Provide a high-quality, responsive, and customer-focused service to residents.
*Act as a responsible key holder, ensuring the safety and security of the building at all times.
*Conduct regular inspections of general service areas and maintain safety records.
*Undertake continuous fire risk assessments and ensure compliance with safety systems.
*Liaise with contractors and the Local Housing team to ensure smooth operation and minimal disruption during major works.
*Promote resident involvement in communal gardening and other community activities.
*Maintain accurate records of repairs, servicing, and safety checks.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Experience in facilities management or a similar role within a residential setting.
*Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
*Excellent organizational and communication skills.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*Proficiency in using ICT for record keeping and communication.
*Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
