Senior Accounts Assistant Hook Norton, Oxfordshire
£33,000 – £37,000 | 8:30am–5:30pm | Office based
Not your typical Accounts Assistant role. We are recruiting a Senior Accounts Assistant for a fast-paced, high-value, commercially driven business relocating to a new, purpose-built facility in Hook Norton.
This is an opportunity to step into a visible, trusted position within a small finance team where accuracy, pace and commercial awareness genuinely matter.
If you enjoy ownership, working autonomously, and being close to the commercial heartbeat of a business — this Accounts Assistant role will suit you.
The Opportunity Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day transactional finance function, ensuring financial accuracy across high-value transactions and multiple currencies.
This is a hands-on Accounts Assistant role where attention to detail is critical and deadlines matter.
Key Responsibilities
Purchase Ledger (Core Focus)
*Processing and posting purchase invoices
*Allocating all costs accurately to individual projects/assets
*Supporting detailed profitability tracking
Sales Ledger *Raising high-value sales invoices promptly
*Issuing additional service-related invoices
*Maintaining accurate and reconciled ledger balances
Bank & Reconciliations *Managing bank reconciliations across multiple accounts
*Credit control reconciliations
*Multi-currency transactions (GBP, USD, EUR, CHF, JPY)
Additional Exposure *Supporting payroll processes (20 employees) – desirable, not essential
*General finance support within a small, agile team
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
*Strong Sage 50 experience
*Solid purchase & sales ledger background
*Confident completing bank reconciliations
*Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
*Able to work independently and prioritise effectively
*Comfortable in a fast-moving, sales-led environment
Desirable:
*Multi-currency accounting experience
*Project/job costing or stock accounting exposure
*Payroll knowledge

This is a commercially focused business where transactions move quickly. When sales complete, invoices need to be raised immediately and accurately.
