Job Description:
We are currently recruiting for an experienced EHCP Coordinator (EHC Practitioner) to join a dynamic SEND team in Nottinghamshire. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people (CYP) with Special Educational Needs (SEN) by managing the statutory assessment process and ensuring high-quality, compliant Education, Health and Care Plans.
The Role
As an EHCP Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing the statutory EHC needs assessment process and ensuring the timely development, review and monitoring of Education, Health and Care Plans.
You will work collaboratively with families, educational settings and multi-agency professionals to ensure provision is tailored, appropriate and legally compliant.
Key Responsibilities
EHC Plan Development
*Manage the statutory assessment process in line with SEND legislation and statutory timelines
*Construct and develop high-quality EHC Plans based on approved assessments
*Ensure CYP with an EHCP have suitable, monitored provision in place
*Align plans with the aspirations of children, young people and families
*Maintain accountability and compliance with legal requirements
Oversight of Vulnerable Groups
*Monitor and track vulnerable cohorts, including:
*Children and young people who have been excluded
*Those on part-time timetables
*CYP receiving EOTAS/EOTAC
*Electively Home Educated (EHE) children
Family & Service User Support
*Provide guidance and advice to families and carers regarding EHC Plans
*Act as a key point of contact for parents, guardians and young people
*Build and maintain strong relationships using a strength-based approach
*Support mediation and resolution where disagreements arise
Multi-Agency Working
*Lead and chair meetings involving education, health and social care professionals
*Work collaboratively to ensure joined-up planning and delivery
*Contribute to problem-solving and conflict resolution where required
Essential Requirements
*Experience working within statutory education, health or social care systems
*Strong knowledge of the EHCP process and SEND legislation
*Experience in problem-solving, mediation and conflict resolution
*Experience leading meetings and working with multi-agency professionals
*Ability to manage a caseload effectively and meet statutory deadlines
*Excellent written skills with experience drafting statutory plans
