Job Title: Tax Analyst - Automotive Industry
Reporting to: Head of Tax
Location: Milton Keynes - Hybrid - 3 days in the office
We are seeking a detail-driven and proactive UK Tax Accountant to join our UK tax team in Milton Keynes. Reporting directly to the Head of Tax, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance across corporate tax, VAT, and employment tax matters, while providing valuable tax support across the wider business.
This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional looking to develop their expertise within a fast-paced, commercially focused environment or a finance candidate looking to pursue a career in Tax. The business is keen to support development and study in this role.
Key Responsibilities
*Prepare corporation tax computations, working closely with Accountants and Franchise Financial Controllers, maintaining robust supporting documentation.
*Calculate quarterly corporation tax instalment payments, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
*Prepare and submit the quarterly VAT return for the UK group and arrange payments.
*Provide practical VAT support to retailer sites, including VAT-free sales queries and ad hoc technical queries.
*Prepare and submit the annual PAYE Settlement Agreement (PSA) return and arrange payment.
*Liaise with external auditors (Deloitte), providing documentation, responding to queries, and supporting audit meetings to ensure clean sign-off.
*Support internal audit requirements, including bi-annual SOX compliance audits conducted by the US internal audit team.
*Prepare tax calculations and disclosures for inclusion in statutory financial statements.
*Assist the wider tax team with ongoing projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
*You will be an organised, analytical professional with strong technical capability and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
*Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly advanced Excel capability
*Excellent attention to detail and high level of numeracy
*Strong organisational and administrative skills
*Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the business
*Able to work independently and meet strict deadlines
