In this crucial role, you will support children and young people who are looked after by the local authority, ensuring their safety, stability, and overall wellbeing.
You will play a key role in care planning, promoting permanency, and achieving positive long-term outcomes through high-quality statutory social work practice. The role offers full-time or part-time options, with core working hours of 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Flexibility around start and finish times is available, providing an excellent work-life balance.
What you will do:*Manage a caseload of Children in Care, ensuring each child receives consistent, high-quality support.
*Undertake statutory visits, assessments, and reviews to safeguard and promote children’s welfare.
*Develop, implement, and regularly review care plans and permanence plans to secure the best possible outcomes.
*Ensure children’s views, wishes, and feelings are actively listened to and inform all decision-making.
*Work collaboratively with foster carers, residential providers, families, and partner agencies.
*Participate in multi-agency meetings, reviews, and planning forums.
*Maintain accurate, timely, and legally compliant case records and reports.
*Contribute to professional development through supervision, training, and reflective practice.

Person SpecificationQualifications:
*Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work.
Registration & Training:
*Registered with Social Work England.
*Completed ASYE (where applicable).
*Evidence of ongoing CPD and safeguarding training.
Key Skills:
*Strong assessment, care planning, and review skills.
*Ability to build effective relationships with children, carers, and professionals.
*Sound knowledge of Children Looked After legislation, guidance, and best practice.
*Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
