Job Description:
Financial Crime and Compliance (FC&C) department is responsible for ensuring that all financial crime and compliance risks within the Bank are identified, managed or mitigated. It establishes and maintains the Bank’s regulatory communications, compliance risk management, regulatory reporting and compliance advisory. As an Assistant Vice President - Compliance Advisory (Corporates), you will be responsible for providing advisory support to the Corporate Banking, Transaction Banking, and Financial Institutions (FI) businesses. This is a 6 month full time fixed term contract position.
Key Responsibilities
*Conduct oversight of Consumer Duty compliance requirements, including applicability and impact on Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SME) clients
*Independently assess and advise the business on compliance risks, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to policies, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency
*Act as Subject Matter Expert to key stakeholders, team members and in implementation/remediation projects with regard to corporate finance and debt capital market related matters
*Maintain relevant policies and procedures, and provide guidance to the business with regard to the management of confidential information, conflict of interests, personal account dealing and market abuse
*Perform and map conduct risk assessments (including controls), in areas such as conflicts of interest
*Assist and input into relevant committee papers and forums including collating and enhancement of compliance related MI
*Report and escalate compliance risks in accordance with internal governance requirements
Requirements
*Degree educated in Finance, Business, Economics, Law or other relevant subject
*Demonstrated experience in providing corporate advisory support
*Demonstrated ability to build, develop and maintain trusted working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders
*Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment
*Good understanding of UK financial regulations, rules, risks and typologies
*Good understanding of UK regulations regarding Market Abuse and Conflict of Interests
*Good understanding of industry best practices in the management of conflicts of interests, confidential information and individual conduct
*Knowledge of FCA Conduct Risk framework and Consumer Duty requirements
*Problem solving skills
*Highly organised and able to deliver high-quality work within agreed deadlines
*Excellent communication skills
*Team player who is able to work independently
*Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
