HR Business Partner
Location: Any Tees Valley Location
Hours: 37 hours – Full time
Contract: Temporary until end of November 2026
Directorate: Deputy CEO Team
A great opportunity has arisen for a credible HR Business Partner to join a proactive People Team on a temporary basis until November 2026. This role is ideal for an experienced HR professional who enjoys partnering with leaders, delivering customer-focused support, and contributing to key people initiatives aligned to organisational priorities.
You will work closely with Senior HR Business Partners to support transformation, develop leadership capability and ensure consistent people practices across the organisation.
The Role
As HR Business Partner, you will:
*Deliver a customer-focused, solutions-driven HR service, offering coaching and practical guidance across a wide range of people matters.
*Manage complex cases including absence, employee relations, capability and probation, ensuring timely and compliant outcomes.
*Support recruitment, retention and effective workforce planning.
*Monitor and interpret HR metrics such as absence, performance, employee relations and talent data, driving improvements with managers.
*Contribute to wider people initiatives including:
*Talent management and workforce planning
*Transformation and change programmes
*Mergers and acquisitions
*Communication, engagement and wellbeing

*Identify manager capability gaps and support targeted coaching or training.
*Work collaboratively with the People Team to ensure consistent HR practice.
*Build strong, credible relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
About You
You will bring a pragmatic, confident approach to HR. We’re looking for someone who is:
*Working towards CIPD or has equivalent experience
*Skilled in complex ER, absence and medical capability cases
*Able to balance legal risk, operational needs and best practice
*Highly organised with excellent coaching and problem-solving abilities
*Comfortable handling sensitive conversations professionally
*Collaborative and able to build strong stakeholder relationships
*Confident in interpreting employment legislation and HR policies
