Location: Coventry (Onsite, Office-Based)

About the Role
We’re supporting a well-established engineering company who deliver high-quality automation, EC&I and electrical design services into the UK water industry. As they continue to expand their design capability, they are seeking an Automation/EICA Engineer to join their Coventry-based team on a permanent basis.
If you enjoy hands-on design, technical problem-solving, and creating robust control solutions for essential national infrastructure, this role will suit you perfectly.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be responsible for producing detailed automation and EICA designs for water and wastewater projects. This includes:
*Designing control panels, MCC layouts, and hardware specifications
*Creating and updating schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings
*Delivering complete EICA design packages from concept through to detailed design
*Collaborating closely with internal engineers, project teams, and panel manufacturers
*Ensuring designs meet relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements
*Supporting project delivery and offering technical input throughout the lifecycle
This is a predominantly office-based role, working onsite in Coventry within a highly skilled, supportive engineering team.
What We’re Looking For
You’ll be a strong match if you bring:
*Experience as an Automation, EICA, EC&I or Electrical Design Engineer
*Background in water/wastewater, process, or industrial automation environments
*Strong experience in control panel design and hardware selection
*Ability to produce high-quality schematics, wiring diagrams, and documentation
*Proficiency with AutoCAD 2D, and ideally AutoCAD Electrical
*Knowledge of relevant standards and best practices within EC&I and automation design
*A collaborative mindset and good communication skills
Candidates with water industry experience will be highly valued, but strong transferable experience from similar sectors is also welcome.
