Job Title: Teaching Assistant (Autism & ADHD Support) - Secondary School
Location: South Wirral, Merseyside
Start Date: 3rd November
Contract Type: Part-Time, Term Time Only (Mondays, Thursdays & Fridays - until Christmas at least)
Are you a compassionate and patient individual with experience supporting young people with Autism or ADHD? Tradewind is currently recruiting a Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in South Wirral, starting 3rd November and running until the end of term (Christmas).
About the Role:This part-time Teaching Assistant position is ideal for someone passionate about supporting students with additional needs. You will work closely with the SENCO and classroom teachers to provide tailored one-to-one and small-group support for students with Autism and ADHD, helping them to engage positively in lessons and make good progress.
Key Responsibilities:*Providing one-to-one and small-group support for students with Autism and ADHD
*Assisting teachers in delivering engaging, inclusive lessons
*Supporting students with emotional regulation, focus, and classroom participation
*Implementing strategies to promote positive behaviour and learning
*Liaising with teachers, parents, and the SEN team to monitor progress
*Contributing to a positive, nurturing classroom environment
What We’re Looking For:*Previous experience supporting students with Autism and/or ADHD (essential)
*A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
*Good communication skills and ability to build positive relationships
*Experience within a secondary school setting (preferred but not essential)
*A valid enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one)
