Payroll Specialist | Leicester | Temp to Perm | £35-£40k | Hybrid working & Part time Available
Macildowie are working with this client based in Leicester to recruit a Payroll Specialist on a temp to perm basis. This opportunity sits within the manufacturing and engineering sector, supporting a multi-site operation with approximately 500 employees across two units.
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000
Contract: Temporary to Permanent
Working Arrangement: Hybrid (2 days office-based in Leicester)
Flexibility: Flexible / Part-Time Considered
This is a hands-on payroll position managing an outsourced payroll provider, ensuring accurate and timely monthly payroll processing via Dayforce. There is a single monthly pay date, with the core payroll period running from the 10th to the 20th each month. This is a peak period and full commitment will be required during this time; however, flexibility is offered outside of these dates, including the potential for reduced hours or part-time working.
Key Responsibilities:
*End-to-end management of the outsourced payroll process for circa 500 employees
*Acting as the key liaison between the business and the payroll provider
*Processing payroll data through Dayforce
*Managing pension contributions and benefits payments
*Ensuring compliance with UK payroll legislation and internal controls
*Supporting audits, reconciliations and payroll reporting
*Handling payroll queries with professionalism and accuracy
The ideal candidate will have:
*Proven payroll experience within a medium to large organisation
*Experience managing outsourced payroll arrangements
*Strong working knowledge of payroll systems (Dayforce experience highly advantageous)
*A solid understanding of pensions and employee benefits processing
*Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to strict monthly deadlines
