Job Description:
Leeds (3–4 days per week in the office), Permanent
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Junior Finance Business Partner to join a fast-paced, high-profile organisation at a pivotal time. Following a recent restructure, the finance team is lean and central to supporting operational delivery and strategic objectives.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role sits between senior leadership and two trainee accountants, combining strong management accounting fundamentals with genuine business partnering exposure. While there is no formal line management, you will play a key role in supporting and developing the junior members of the team.
This is a broad role within a complex organisation comprising multiple legal entities, numerous bank accounts and significant intercompany activity — offering real ownership and visibility across the business.
What you’ll do
*Act as the key finance contact for operational teams
*Lead on budget management, reforecasting and performance analysis
*Produce timely monthly management accounts (month-end completed within the first week)
*Deliver clear financial insight to inform decision-making
*Strengthen balance sheet reconciliations and support a clean year-end audit
*Oversee Accounts Payable, expenses and invoice processes, ensuring strong controls
*Support and mentor two trainee accountants, helping to upskill and improve team performance
*Manage intercompany reconciliations across multiple entities
*Support VAT returns and wider compliance requirements
*Improve reporting processes and encourage better use of existing systems and analytics tools
What you’ll need
*Part-qualified ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent), ideally well progressed with studies
*Experience in a Management Accountant or Junior FBP role within a reasonably complex organisation
*Strong budgeting, forecasting and reconciliation skills
*Confidence partnering with a variety of stakeholders and having constructive, challenging conversations
*Excellent communication skills and a proactive, "no surprises" approach
*Ability to work independently in a lean, fast-moving environment
Sector background is open — the organisation is focused on capability, attitude and the ability to operate in a complex, regulated environment.
If you’re looking to step into a role with real responsibility, stakeholder exposure and the opportunity to strengthen how finance supports operations, this could be an excellent next move.
