Role Description
I’m working with a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Stevenage that is looking to appoint an experienced Accounts Senior OR Assistant Manager to support its leadership team.
This is a senior-level role with responsibility across accounts, VAT and taxation, alongside managing a client portfolio and playing a key part in mentoring and developing junior staff. You’ll act as a main point of contact for clients, ensuring high standards of service and compliance are consistently delivered

What you’ll do
*Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring timely delivery of accounts, VAT returns and tax filings
*Prepare and review year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
*Prepare and review personal and corporate tax returns
*Liaise on VAT matters, including reviewing returns and advising on compliance and schemes
*Review work produced by junior staff, providing feedback, training and ongoing mentorship
*Assist with workflow planning, deadline management and client onboarding
What you’ll need
*Extensive experience within a UK accountancy practice
*Strong knowledge of accounts preparation, VAT, personal and corporate tax
*Experience supervising, mentoring or training junior staff
*ACA/ACCA qualified or part-qualified (or equivalent experience considered)
*Excellent organisational and communication skills
