Job Description:
Fixed-Term Contract with Strong Potential to Go Permanent
Croydon – 3 days office / 2 days WFH
Competitive Salary
Are you ready to take the next step in your HR career and make a real impact? This is an exciting opportunity to join an award-winning, family-run group that genuinely puts its people and communities first. If you’re looking for a role where you can grow, influence and be part of a supportive, values-driven team, this could be the perfect move for you.
We’re looking for a proactive, confident and people-focused HR Advisor to join our client’s People Team on a fixed-term basis. Working closely with an experienced HR Business Partner, you’ll play a key role in delivering a high-quality generalist HR service to managers and colleagues across our 240+ sites. This is a fantastic opportunity to stretch your ER experience, build business partnering skills, and take ownership in a fast-paced but friendly environment.
Acting as a key HR point of contact, you will work closely with the HR Business Partner to deliver a high-quality, generalist HR service to managers and colleagues across 240+ pharmacy locations.
You’ll be right at the heart of things in this role. Day-to-day, you’ll be:
*Looking after the HR & Payroll shared inbox, making sure employees and managers get timely, helpful responses.
*Handling everyday ER issues — things like maternity, sickness absence, flexible working requests and probation extensions — and sorting all the paperwork that goes with them.
*Supporting key compliance tasks, including sponsored-worker documentation and routine Right to Work checks.
*Guiding managers through disciplinary and grievance processes, coordinating investigations and keeping everything on track.
*Running HR inductions for Support Office starters and Trainee Pharmacists so they get the best possible welcome.
*Managing long-term sickness cases, keeping documentation up to date and arranging Occupational Health referrals when needed.
*Designing and delivering HR-focused training sessions for operational teams.
*Getting involved in HR projects and wider business initiatives that need strong organisation, collaboration and a proactive approach.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone with solid HR advisory experience, ideally with some more complex ER casework under their belt. An HR qualification is essential, and CIPD would be a real bonus.
You’ll need to be comfortable using MS Office and confident working with HR systems or databases. Attention to detail is key, as is being super organised.
We also need someone who communicates well, can influence, and builds trust easily. You should be happy working on your own initiative, taking ownership, and handling sensitive matters professionally.
Most importantly, we need someone who stays calm under pressure, adapts quickly, and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves in a busy HR environment.
If this opportunity sounds like the right next step for you, we’d love to hear from you. Please apply today or get in touch directly for a confidential conversation about the role.
