Role Purpose:
To deliver environmental health services within the Facilities & Environment function, ensuring compliance with environmental protection legislation and maintaining high standards of public health and safety across the borough.
Key Responsibilities:
*Carry out inspections, investigations and enforcement activities in line with environmental health legislation.
*Respond to complaints relating to environmental protection, nuisance, pollution, and public health concerns.
*Provide professional advice to businesses, residents and stakeholders on regulatory compliance.
*Prepare statutory notices, reports, evidence and attend court where required.
*Support corporate and service objectives within Environment & Public Protection.
*Maintain accurate case records and contribute to performance targets.
Key Requirements:
*Qualified Environmental Health Officer (EHRB/CIEH recognised qualification).
*Experience in environmental protection and regulatory enforcement within a local authority setting.
*Strong knowledge of relevant environmental and public health legislation.
*Ability to manage caseloads independently and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
