Mechanical Designer - Nottingham - 40/50k
ALH Recruitment are looking to recruit a Mechanical Designer for our client who lead their market across the UK, this role is based in their Nottingham office.
Mechanical Designer:
The successful candidate will be responsible for executing and leading the full design & development process from concept to manufacture. You will be involved in the design of existing and new electrical charging points.
You will need to have a strong mindset in order to visualize the design, be able to develop overall concept, new parts and components in a wide range of manufacturing industries. Create detailed drawings and technical documentation including wire harness and electrical schematics drawings.
Key Responsibilities:
*Be able to design and develop new products, parts and components from scratch to the final product;
*Create complex CAD assemblies, detailed production drawings with the use of Solidworks CAD package and compliance with the ISO9001 standard;
*Carrying out mechanical design calculations and analyses to satisfy all aspects of design;
*Ensure cost efficient and safe design for all products;
*Cooperate with suppliers / manufacturers and provide technical assistance when required;
*Produce technical documentation: drawings, bill of materials, electrical schematics;
*Ensure that design details are adequate for manufacture;
*To accurately estimate timely completion of design projects;
Represent the Company in a professional manner at all times, both internally and externally. Follow the published processes and comply with all company policies and procedures.
Required Capabilities:
*Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSc, HND or above in an Engineering / Mechanical design related field);
*Proven experience working as a Senior mechanical design engineer / Product Design Engineer;
*General electrical / electronic knowledge;
*Proficient in using Solidworks CAD package;
*Proficient in using office applications - MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Other.
*Strong analytical and design skills;
*Good knowledge of different manufacturing processes – injection molding, sheet metal, casting, e.t.c ;
*Ability to develop effective working relationships with team at all levels;
Ability to manage priorities and handle multiple tasks successfully, build your own project plan;
