Job Vacancy: Credit ControllerSalary: £28,000 – £30,000 per annum
About the RoleWe are looking for a proactive and detail-driven Credit Controller to join our busy Head Office finance team. This role is essential in ensuring accurate invoicing, timely payments, and strong client relationships within a fast-paced service-sector environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesYour duties will include, but are not limited to:
*Managing and maintaining the sales ledger on Xero and various client portals
*Ensuring invoices are submitted accurately and on time
*Applying correct VAT handling with an understanding of CIS
*Working with internal teams to resolve any invoice discrepancies
*Monitoring client accounts to keep outstanding debt to a minimum
*Building and maintaining strong client relationships to support smooth payment processes
*Chasing overdue payments through reminders and statements
*Producing up-to-date accounts receivable and overdue payment reports
*Highlighting potential bad debt risks to the Finance Director
*Reconciling payments accurately
*Collaborating with national account managers and sales teams to resolve payment issues
*Initiating legal proceedings where necessary, in line with regulations
Qualifications & Education*GCSEs or equivalent required
*A-Levels or higher are advantageous but not essential
Preferred Skills & Experience*Strong organisational abilities
*Proven experience in a similar credit control role
*High level of accuracy and attention to detail
*Good understanding of office-based operations within a service-led business
*Professional and supportive manner with colleagues
*Ability to motivate both yourself and others
*Excellent relationship-building skills across all levels
