Are you a technically strong Finance Manager who thrives in a hands-on, multi-channel retail environment? Our client — a globally recognised international fashion brand — is seeking a confident, detail-driven finance professional to take ownership of all day-to-day financial operations for their UK business.
This is a high-visibility role where you’ll partner closely with retail, e-commerce, wholesale and head office teams, ensuring accurate reporting, robust controls, and seamless month-end and quarter-end processes.
The Role
As Finance Manager, you’ll oversee all financial operations for the UK entity, leading the close process and preparing high-quality financial information for the brand’s overseas head office. You will ensure the accuracy and integrity of all accounting activities, manage cash flow, and act as the primary contact for auditors and external compliance partners.
You’ll also supervise and develop an Accounts Assistant.
Key Responsibilities
*Lead monthly and quarterly close, delivering accurate and timely reporting in line with group accounting policies
*Prepare quarterly management accounts end-to-end with exceptional precision
*Own key balance sheet areas including Corporation Tax control, Deferred Tax, Share Capital and Shareholders’ Funds
*Maintain real-time financial accuracy to ensure a smooth year-end with no audit adjustments
*Produce P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow statements, plus detailed reconciliations, variance analysis and commentary
*Ensure all sales channels (Retail, E-commerce, Wholesale) and expenses are correctly approved, reconciled, and accounted for
*Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
*Monitor cash flow and ensure sufficient working capital
*Prepare VAT returns and oversee market-specific compliance requirements
*Lead the external audit relationship, delivering financial statements within agreed timelines
*Uphold robust financial controls and governance
*Provide financial insight and support to senior management
*Coach and develop the Accounts Assistant
About You
*Studying toward or fully qualified: AAT / ACA / CIMA / ACCA
*Strong experience preparing financial statements and managing audits
*Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
*Experience with SAGE 50 is highly desirable
*Background in fashion retail or multi-channel retail accounting is a strong advantage
*Confident communicator who is proactive, polished and approachable
*Organised, detail-driven and collaborative
*Able to mentor and develop junior team members
*Resilient, adaptable and brings a positive, can-do attitude (sense of humour welcome!)
