Management Accountant
4-Month Interim Contract
£325–£375 per day (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Guildford – 4 Days per Week On-Site


We’re supporting a high-growth, energy manufacturing business that operates at the forefront of innovation within its sector. To support continued operational performance and reporting excellence, they are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join their finance team on an interim basis.


This is a hands-on, commercially focused role suited to a qualified CIMA Management Accountant who thrives in fast-paced, detail-driven environments. You will take ownership of month-end processes, provide meaningful financial insight to operational teams, and strengthen controls and reporting during a key period of delivery.


The Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and commercial relevance of the company’s financial reporting. You’ll work closely with operational and project teams, providing analysis that supports informed decision-making and business performance.


This role requires someone comfortable operating across both reporting and business partnering responsibilities, with the confidence to challenge assumptions and improve processes where needed.


Key Responsibilities
*Lead the monthly management accounts process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
*Prepare detailed P&L analysis, variance commentary, and cost performance reporting
*Own balance sheet reconciliations and ensure integrity across ledgers
*Support budgeting and forecasting cycles, working closely with department heads
*Provide financial analysis to support operational performance and project tracking
*Review and post journals, accruals, and prepayments in line with accounting standards
*Support cash flow forecasting and working capital monitoring
*Assist with audit preparation and statutory reporting requirements
*Contribute to process improvement initiatives within finance, including reporting automation
*Support ad-hoc financial modelling and business case analysis as required


What We’re Looking For
*Fully qualified CIMA accountant (or ACCA)
*Strong experience in management accounting within manufacturing, engineering, or operational environments
*Confident producing detailed variance analysis and commercial insight
*Strong systems capability and advanced Excel skills
*Comfortable working in a structured, deadline-driven environment
*Strong communication skills and ability to partner with non-finance stakeholders
*Hands-on, detail-oriented, and willing to get involved across all aspects of finance
