Job Description:
Location: Barking and Dagenham
Contract: Full-time | Long-term
A Pupil Referral Unit in Barking and Dagenham is seeking a resilient Learning Support Assistant to work with students who have been excluded from mainstream education. Pupils present with SEMH needs, behavioural challenges, and additional SEND.
Key Responsibilities:
*Support pupils in small class settings
*Help manage challenging behaviour using positive strategies
*Build trusting relationships to re-engage learners
*Support emotional wellbeing and personal development
Ideal Candidate:
*Experience in PRU, SEMH, youth work, or mentoring
*Calm, consistent, and confident personality
*Passion for supporting vulnerable young people
